Kent Life Queer Wedding with Lucy Can't Dance Dress

KP and Al are exceptional humans, and their Kent Life Wedding will always be one to beat. From the moment they enquired, KP and I became insta-pals, chatting all things feminist weddings and queer joy!

The Timeline

KP and Alice started their day together, along with their gorgeous pup Poe at the Orida Maidstone. They said goodbye to get dressed and travelled separately to Kent Life ready for that epic First Look on a tractor trailer. Guests were taken up the hill to the iconic pink chapel, where we all cried buckets at their intimate and glorious ceremony. Al made the hilarious mistake of forgetting the rings, but their parents stepped in to save the day, lending theirs for the ceremony and scooting back to hotel later in the day to collect the real deals!

After the ceremony guests enjoyed drinks and canapés in the barn garden, surrounded by colourful bunting and getting to feed two adorable pigmy goats. Inside the barn were temporary tattoos and interactive tarot themed tables which were so fun and great ice-breakers. After yet more balling our eyes out at speeches (how I shot through I’ll never know) I whisked the two of them off for an early evening stroll around the farm - which had now closed to the public meaning we had free reign! It was the total highlight of my day and we had so much fun twirling in front of Oat houses and running up and down the vines. Proper magic.

As the night crawled in we made our way to a third barn ready for donuts and dancing - after having an impromptu pop-up photo booth in front of the red phone box outside - where Shania Twain sang out ‘Man I Feel Like A Woman’ and the dance floor packed out.

Everything about this day was perfection. The low-key vibes, the styling, DOGS, the wavings of many traditions that didn’t have a place in this joyous little farm and celebration of queer love and chosen family.

Kent Life Farm Love

Someone take me back to this venue ASAP! I can't tell you how much I adored shooting here. The hustle and bustle of the busy farm makes for such an exciting lead up to your ceremony, and when the doors shut to the public at 5pm it's all yours to explore! Pigmy goats, Alpacas, Oat Houses, the pink Vegas-style chapel...I think it might just be my actual dream venue.
